The Nightmare Is Over (Yesterday)
Waking up, my girlfriend drills me," John Kerry picked a running mate... guess who it is."

"I have no idea."

"Guess," she continued to tease as she sees the bottom line continue to scroll the latest and usually inane news.

All I could think of was the worst possibility: that Dick Gephardt was Kerry's choice, and that he made this decision over a few drinks in the basement of Al Gore's house. (Dick Gephardt was very close to being Al Gore's running mate four years ago.)

"John Edwards," I guessed, and the nod from my lovely girlfriend assured me the Kerry veepstakes nightmare was over, and that we (the dems) have at least a chance to take down this oppressive administration in November.
