Now for most intelligent Americans (the blue states) such a comment doesn't change your opinions. But the majority of the other Americans (the red states) find that such a comment infuriates them; suggestions that red-commie-liberal-Hollywood persons would have such an esteemed quality as middle-American values ticks them off.
Well, what did Kerry say on that fateful July 8th?
"Every performer tonight in their own way, either verbally or through their music, through their lyrics, have conveyed to you the heart and soul of our country."
And Bush lambasted those torrid comments on national television on August 18th.
"The other day, my opponent said he thought you could find the heart and soul of America in Hollywood."
You make the call. Maybe if Bush had a talk show (I am sure Fox News has room in their schedule) he could have played the statement Kerry made and then retorted it. But instead he just made something up and went with it.
