Exceeding (Low) Expectations
The pundits have successfully lowered the bar for which Bush must jump over in order to keep his desk in the Oval Office. (Bush's desk is primarily clear; it especially was on September 10, 2001.) If Bush had only fallen over twice, mumbled that he thought that bin Laden may actually be in Iraq, or said something stupid, such as, "I hear there's rumors on the Internets that we're going to have a draft," he wouldn't have passed his low expectations. (Correction: Bush actually made that last statement regarding the all-too-many internets.)

John Kerry made countless mistakes in the second presidential debate, but he was informed, determined, and made his points. Kerry did not successfully attack the president on jobs, the lack of WMD, the comments by Paul Bremer regarding the number of troops in Iraq, Bush's energy policy, and the president's overall failure to lead a war on terror. Kerry's bar was set so high that he only could just clear it, possibly nicking it, whereas George Bush's was so low he could crawl over it on his hands and knees.

Bush had his moments - making jokes in a stand-up comedian fashion regarding his investment in a lumber company (which he does have). Bush is able to proudly name the cute-and-fuzzy named environmental programs that have rolled back regulations and opened the doors to development and the destruction of our precious open-lands. Bush walks around yelling and preaching, unwilling to accept facts or science, pushing his faith and ill-guided policies upon this nation and beyond.

Whether or not the majority of American people have been fooled, or will honestly evaluate our choices, will be known in less than a month.
