I wish one moderator would have asked Bush, "Mr. President, in the 2000 election, your opponent received more popular votes than you did. Although you did win the electoral college, how did that stark reality affect you, and how have you run your presidency as a result? Was there any respect given to the fact that most Americans voted for the other guy?"
Bush's response, "Gosh... I don't know." And maybe he would add that his opponent is a liberal from Massachusetts. (I guess it is fair to say Bush has given up winning Massachusetts.)
Bush instead brought with him one of the most ideologically-divisive and arch-conservative cabinets in history, silencing the voices of the majority of Americans.
