First, on the subject of natural disasters:
I live roughly (er, exactly) twenty-two miles from San Andreas, and less than four miles from the just-as-powerful Hayward fault, and only one mile from the equally-devastating Rodgers Creek fault. (Note: Peak Ground Acceleration, PGA, is a function of earthquake source, distance, and subsurface profile.)But the truth is, Joe, that natural disasters will happen on this planet. It was one of a subduction of one of the tectonic plates in the Indian Ocean. And it’s not God’s do. It was one of those things, like a hurricane. It’s a natural release of heat in the atmosphere. And if people choose to live along the coastlines in dangerous areas, they are in trouble, just like people who live on the San Andreas fault in California.
The big one, one day is going to come. And they’re going to be—but you can’t blame God for your foolishness. If you want to live there, that’s too bad. But it’s a terrible tragedy, but it’s a natural disaster.

I guess I will see you in hell, Mr. Robertson.
