reyonthehill: Cheney Regulates the Afterlife
Cheney Regulates the Afterlife
During a meering at the Orange County Register, Cheney discussed the life and death, literally, ramifications of the Terri Schiavo case.
"She has become an important symbol. This is an area of considerable debate in this country, the whole notion of the culture of life, what kind of regard we should have for human life and how should we regulate activities that touch on that... This affects everything from the abortion issue to cloning to questions of what happens at the end of life."

What my sources are telling me: the proposal on the table is that if you support Social Security reform, similar to Bush's nonexistent plan, or, and I stress or, you ardently support, read continually support, the military action in Iraq, the federal government will reserve one spot in heaven for you. Just one; no freebies for the family. There is a caveat, however. (Isn't there always.) If the politics of the Schiavo case turn against the current administration, i.e., the radical right, forget any of this.
