The twenty-four-hour news networks displayed yet another sign of their ignorance and contempt for the truth with the horrible news of the despise of the West Virginia miners last night. Instead of continuing the investigation, the cable news networks heralded the "great news," pushing the easily-identifiable human interest story. Journalism lost out last night. Rita "Do I have a cold?" Cosby, Anderson "Am I cool?" Cooper, and Bill Hemmer all repeatedly and falsely reported unconfirmed information. All lack journalistic integrity as a result.

And hard news organizations were also the victim, as they reported what MSNBC, CNN and Fox News had reported as confirmed fact (and not reconfirmed for hours). (Click on image to enlarge.)
