reyonthehill: Daily Kos Syndrome
Daily Kos Syndrome
There are, in my humble opinion, four types of political blogs. On one end are the more gossip-oriented blogs (I will give these blogs a value of 4) and on the other end the party-oriented blogs (which I will give a value of 1). I consider this blog to be a 2.5. Do you disagree?

The lowest scoring blog (based on the above-mentioned scale) is Daily Kos, the ever-so-preachy widely-read blog, which is widely-referenced in the mainstream media as the "liberal blogosphere," has become a fighting arm in the democratic army. And I do not mean that in a good way. I wish the best of luck to Markos (the "Kos" in Daily Kos) and thank him for all of his great service in contributing to and forming of the "blogosphere" (I can't believe I just said it), but his blog has essentially become a bulletin board of primary fundraising statistics (yawn), excerpts, fictitious straw polls, and plagiarism of original reyonthehill work (for which I commented on).

The Daily Kos community believes that they are an arm of the democratic party (and they are) but that is no fun. Being able to state objective original opinions is more important than becoming the left wing's version of the conservative Town Hall forums. The Daily Kos goal, as it seems, is to develop a democratic party grassroots system, and that is all fine and dandy. But, for what? To support Welsey Clark? But don't take my word as gospel; take it from Markos, he has written a book on it. (You may have seen a link to it on the Daily Kos website...)
