In the News. Well, Not Really.
- Jake Tapper, whose book "Down and Dirty" I am still reading, is ending his (short-lived) blog, by the same name. If an old-school journalist can't adapt to the pressures of on-demand web publishing, what hope is there for the rest of us?

- The 100-year anniversary of the great 1906 earthquake and fire that destroyed nearly all of San Francisco is near: April 18. Unfortunately, an earthquake event like the one in 1906 has a return period of roughly 100 years. Eep.

- And Dan Froomkin's wildly-popular White House Briefing blog at the Washington Post is on hiatus. Froomkin reports that his "column will resume Thursday, April 20. See you then." Hmm... we sure will.
