reyonthehill: Chasing Bonds Chasing Ruth
Chasing Bonds Chasing Ruth
I had the fortunate opportunity to be at the ball game for two games during Barry Bonds' nine-game homerless streak - a Tuesday game vs. the Cubs in San Francisco and a Friday game in Oakland - where Bonds entered and exited both games with 713 career home runs, good for one behind Babe Ruth for second on the all-time list. Unfortunately, in Bonds' next plate appearance on Saturday in Oakland (following the Friday night game), Bonds hit his 714th career home run, tying him for second on the all-time list with Ruth. I attended two games within a 10-day span, but all for naught...

However, I did podcast live from both the games via telephone, as part of the A's Superfan Network (clearly a punishable offense by MLB, if you read the back of the game ticket).

Anyway...

From the May 9 game vs. Cubs in San Francisco...
