I just returned home from the City Council meeting regarding the possible use of eminent domain to stop Walmart's proposed development. I spoke briefly - a few applause lines and a few laughs as well - during the public hearing. (I hope to get video.) At a little past nine, the council voted in favor, unanimously, to move forward in taking the land owned by Walmart by the doctrine of eminent domain. We won (for now). Walmart has vowed to fight, nevertheless...
