Working for the blind.
Out of all the non-life threatening ailments a person may have, I really have to believe that being blind is one of the worse. (And I am basically blind now - I couldn't even have a dream about driving without putting in my contact lenses.) Going to work when your blind must be even more mind-blowingly difficult. (I am taking advantage of the blind's weakness, you see, because they can't read this blog. Suckers.)

Anyway, how could a job be rewarding for a blind person? There is no way of knowing if you're doing a good job, or if you're even doing the job you're supposed to be doing.

Boss: "Yes, John, very good work. Thank you."

[Blind man John leaves work proud to have been useful this Monday at work.]

Boss: "Susan, get over here and redo what John just did. The man is blind for Christ's sake. Can't he just go on disability?"

Seriously, what job opportunities do blind people have? There must be a bunch, because I see them everyday on the train; the blind people must be going somewhere. And on an endnote, being blind from birth would have to be worse, never knowing what life looks like. And I do feel great sorrow for all blind persons who will never know what sex with a beautiful woman is like. Sex, maybe, but never sex with a beautiful woman; that is tragically sad.
