In the News
- The conservative district attorney on the Law & Order television show is running for president. (In a few years, I'll read that line and laugh my ass off. Unless he wins, and then I'll cry.)

- Umh, it seems that every candidate I tentatively "support" immediately gets bad press, first Joe Biden and now Bill Richardson. Call it the reyonthehill primary. Who's next?

- And a bill in the California state legislature will require "all semiautomatic pistols sold in California contain a mechanism to stamp the gun's make, model and serial number on the shell casing of the bullet every time the weapon is fired." And the gun nuts go boom.

Regarding your first item, I'm trying to figure out if art imitates life, or life imitates art. Or, in this instance, if life imitates run-of-the-mill TV. No matter what, though, I'm with you: if "Arthur Branch" wins, I'll be going through boxes of Kleenex like there's no tomorrow.

You seem to have a unique way of endorsing presidential candidates, kind of like a black thumb in gardening. Perhaps you should re-think your announcements of support of presidential candidates until well after the election.

Yes, and then I would be able to declare, "I wanted him (or her) to win all along. I just didn't want to say anything. Even though I have a blog."

You've kind of painted yourself into a corner, but you could get out of it by declaring, "I won't reveal the name of my favorite candidate because I don't want to take advantage of my position in the media." While everyone is trying to figure out just how influential you are, you can change the subject ("How 'bout them Cubs?").
