To date, Edwards came in second in Iowa, third in New Hampshire, didn't place in Michigan, and will most likely come in third in Nevada tomorrow. If he follows that impressive run with another third-place showing in South Carolina, Edwards will need to drop out of the race, leaving it a two-person race leading up to Super Tuesday.
I know that Edwards has said that he is in it until the end, but how could he possibly keep going after another devastating loss in a state he won four years ago? And let's remember, he should have won Iowa. It has been editorialized that it would be beneficial to Obama if Edwards stays in the race, pilfering Clinton voters, and maybe that is what it will come down to.
Maybe Edwards will be Obama's wingman.
