Ten Things Everyone Should Know About The Internet
The ten things everyone should know about the internet...

(1) Newspaper websites are easier to use, have more information, and make better references than cable news websites.

(2) Ninety-seven percent of commenters online are belligerent.

(3) Even the most innocuous of search terms can result in links to items that are NSFW (not safe for work).

(4) The most popular sites online are popular for a reason: they are for people who do not understand how the internet works.

(5) Shopping online is akin to shopping at flea markets. Stick to the people you know and you'll be fine.

(6) Online banking allows you to do virtually all of your banking, except for the most important part: receiving your cash.

(7) Publishing your photos online is tedious work (naming, adding descriptions, tagging, creating albums, etc.), and is almost certainly more work than it is actually worth.

(8) Almost every ad online is the equivalent of late-night television infomercials, except that even big corporations and government agencies are in on it, trying to rip you off.

(9) There are only two types of web design: simplistic and not simplistic. There is no in-between.

(10) Email is never going away, no matter what any social networking company thinks, because sometimes sending messages anonymously (meaning without attaching a photo of yourself, your education and work history, and a status update along the lines of "at the beach, gin in hand, columbus day rocks") is priceless.
