Atonement

I am not sure why this film was nominated for an Academy Award. In retrospect, I think the Academy may have had an off year. It was a different type of story, which is welcome, and my wife liked it. I think this is a film that must be watched more than once (which I didn't).

(Returned 03/31/08.)

Rent with Netflix.

just saw it last night and thought is was pretty good......better than i thought with a different and interesting plot. It was difficult to grasp in the beginning what they were trying to show you (in terms of the movie plot), but after the 1st 20 minutes, it was very good. I'd give it 3.75 stars. that said, the academy did have slim pickins this year. My first time watching Michael Clayton, I thought is was good, not great. On the cruise, I ended up watching parts of it a 2nd and 3rd time and started to see why it was a very good film. Sometimes it takes a 2nd pass through it to see.
