And one more thing. Not to go on a rant here, but saying "god damn America" is no big deal. I say it all the time. In fact, I'll say it right now. God damn America. The problem is not really the statement itself, which could be used as a tool to vent frustration at certain aspects of our society, for example, god damn every investor on Wall Street, and god damn the system that created their "importance," ergo, god damn America, but the fact that people are upset about the statement because they actually believe god can damn America, or bless America, or whatever. The issue here is that some people actually think that that statement may result in dire consequences from a higher power. Pure silliness. Get over it, wing-nuts, there ain't no god.
God damn America. God bless America. Both, equally meaningless.
Note: I am probably going to need to follow up this entry with some further explanation and thoughts on the Obama pastor issue. I realize this already.
