The Post — In-depth news from Washington and around the World.

The Post is an idea for a premium-cable news channel. Why pay for what you can get for free (CNN, MSNBC, FNC)? No fluff, no commercials… pure news.
The Post will NOT…
– air commercials.
– run day-to-day weather forecasts, but will run segments on newsworthy weather stories, e.g., tornadoes, droughts, blizzards, etc.
– show sports scores, sports news, or sports press conferences. If a sports story is fit to report, i.e., criminal charges, riots, etc., those items will make it to air.
– cover entertainment news, movie critiques, box office receipts, movie premieres, awards ceremonies, or gossip.
– show court precedings. The news is the trial, the trial is not the news.
– show live statements, speeches, or press conferences, except for a few newsworthy ones, e.g., the President. When the statements or speeches have been made, or the press conferences have been concluded, the Post staff will digest the information and bring the news to air as soon as possible.
– show the State of the Union address live. It will bring you the news that results from the address.
– have a tabloid show.
– run shows that highlight an entertainer’s or athlete’s life story.
– have a stock ticker, or have the indices on-screen all day. (ALL)
– be cycled every thirty minutes or hour. (Headline News)
– have obtrusive displays on-screen, with weather, sports, stocks. (Headline News)
The Post WILL…
– run in-depth coverage of the Press Secretary briefings, and analysis and commentary, but will not run the briefings live.
There will be no “lost time” on the Post.
