Hillbilly of Terror

Coming across inaccurate, unintelligible, or complete outrageous statements made by lunatics on the right on the web is not news. It certainly is not uncommon. But sometimes… you just have to laugh. While researching (that post still to come) I came across a web-site titled, “Young Elephant,” a site devoted to the future hitlers of the world.
A message board post submitted by user GOP Missinglink, who describes himself (there is a photo so I do know it is a him) as, and I am not making this up, “Capital Hillbilly,” concerning the first vice-presidential debate between Dick Cheney and John Edwards contained the following praise for Dick.
“Freedom is the best anecdote to terror.” Good.Source: Young Elephant
I am pretty sure the vice president said “antidote” to terror. And I am quite positive that most Bush supporters didn’t understand what Cheney meant; by no means is the Capital Hillbilly alone on this one. But to take the time to post the statement to the web, replacing the only key word of the statement, antidote, with “anecdote” (which makes the statement complete nonsense), makes you wonder: How dumb is America? The funny thing is, despite failing to understand the statement by the vice president, GOP Missinglink, aka Capital Hillbilly, ensures the reader that it was “good.”
God bless you… and god bless the United States.
