Bush: Fighting Terrorists Is Exciting

To state that Bush tends to speak incoherently, and in some cases with disastrous outcomes, is putting it lightly. Take, for example, Bush’s remarks at Penn State University yesterday.
We’re living in historic times. These are amazing times. And I hope you’re as excited about them as I am. I wish I could tell you this wasn’t the truth — the case, but the case is, we’re still fighting the war against terrorists. It’s a different kind of war. But it’s a necessary war, because our most solemn duty is to protect the homeland.Source: Washington Post
I guess Bush’s speechwriter wrote, “[Do your thing],” at this point in the speech, giving the artful president some time to articulate his world views in his own words. Bush, obviously, did: This is an amazing time; we are fighting terrorists!

Bush is an idiot – I think of amazing times as like when we landed on the moon or like when someday we find a cure for Cancer or AIDS. Stem cell research is amazing – Fighting terrorists is just plain fucked.
