A newspaper claimed to have seen official papers showing that pressure from oil and gas giant Exxon Mobil partly prompted US President George W. Bush to reject the Kyoto protocol on climate change. (AFP)

The New York Times said Philip Cooney, the chief of staff for the White House Council on Environmental Quality, altered several documents which had already been approved for publication, to “soften” the case for cuts in greenhouse gases. (Times)

Cooney‘s [resignation] came just two days after allegations were made public that he had altered scientific reports about the dangers of global warming. (Elites TV)
