The following email I sent to the KQED forum on Schwarzenegger’s call for a special election, unfortunately, never made it to air.

Subject: Schwarzenegger’s Special Election
As a son and brother in a family of teachers, I find it highly disturbing
that Governor Schwarzenegger has decided to stage a fight against a
necessary public good, such as teachers. Schwarzenegger’s continued
fights against public servicemen and women, such as nurses, firefighters,
and teachers, is an insult to the hardworking Californian taxpayers, who
expect the governor to fight the true special interests and corporations.
The governor has incorrectly labeled teachers as special interests, and at
the same time has broken his promise to not take money from special
interests, by deeming those who support him as not being special
interests. The governor has also created a large part of the debt we are
in by bailing himself out with an expensive bond.
