Bush Struggles To Understand Global Test (Video)

Amidst the first presidential debate between Bush and John Kerry, a battle that Kerry won easily, Bush often truggled to respond to John Kerry's points made during the debate. Here is a classic example of how ill-prepared Bush was for the Kerry debates. After Kerry articulated his views on Bush's mistaken Iraq war, Bush eventually responded with his dumb schoolboy "charm" (they call it "charm" nowadays) and changed the subject; Bush argued with himself the meaning of a "global test." ("Global test" soon became a platitude slogan used by the Bush reelection team.)

Another note: This is the debate that Bush has been conclusively proven to be wearing a wire (clearly visible during first few moments of the video below).

Listen and watch how Bush struggles to make any sense. Whatever the "test" is, Bush didn't pass it.

LEHRER: Ninety seconds.

BUSH: Let me -- I'm not exactly sure what you mean, "passes the global test," you take preemptive action if you pass a global test.

Classic Bush On Missing WMD (Video)

A classic Bush response to a question on the missing WMD in Iraq following the invasion. This took place in the Cabinet Room in the White House on June 9, 2003.

Q Sir, is U.S. credibility on the line over weapons of mass destruction in Iraq?

THE PRESIDENT: I'm not exactly sure what that means.

Bush’s Small TV Rivals His Small Brain

Anyone who reads this blog, or for that matter, reads only a scant few of my blog entries, knows, and knows readily, that I am not a fan of George W. Bush, our beloved president. (The omnipresent goal of this blog, although it has failed, and failed mightily, was, and still is, the removal of Bush from the Oval Office. The only options left are a disgraced resignation, impeachment, or criminal arrest.)

However, this man does deserve a bigger television. There is certainly no impressing foreign dignitaries with a 13-inch portable.

War On Terror Officially Ends

Is it obvious how blatant the Bush administration has become a propaganda machine when a formal policy must be made to change the name of the "war on terror" to "a global struggle against violent extremism?"

If the administration didn't pound that phrase into every public address and response, and use that phrase, a not-so-subtle scare tactic, to win reelection last November, would they have needed to provide reasons behind such a minor rhetorical alteration?

What I wonder now is whether or not Bill O'Reilly will be up in arms over the fact that the Bush administration is referring to these killers as "extremists" and not "terrorists," and dedicate an entire one of his silly talking points memos to the subject.

MSNBC Offers reyonthehill To Readers

I still can not believe it. MSNBC offered a link today to reyonthehill, yep, that's right, little old reyonthehill. I think it has something to do with the second year of this blog's existence coming to a close, and a third year beginning.

Bush Has Failed Us In The War On Terror (Podcast)

Midday, I phoned in and commented on Bush's failures in the war on terrorism, as evidenced by today's repeat bombings in London.

And Survey Says…

Roberts Makes Court 5-4

For years, the Supreme Court has held a weak 5-4 conservative majority, with retiring Sandra Day O'Conner providing the moderate swing-vote. With John Roberts eventual nomination as the 109th Supreme Court justice, the court will now have a strong 5-4 conservative majority. That means that hot-button issues such as abortion, separation of church and state, and free speech, will be at-play; and the conservatives have the players, and ringers, to win the decisions.

Bush: An Idiot, Or Just Plain Stupid?

I recently quoted Bush's ridiculous comments on the Karl Rove leak in which he said that if someone commited a crime, he/she (read: Rove) would be fired. Some have argued that I didn't provide context. Well here goes; Bush's entire response, which includes another doozy (in bold):

"We have a serious ongoing investigation here. (Laughter.) And it's being played out in the press. And I think it's best that people wait until the investigation is complete before you jump to conclusions. And I will do so, as well. I don't know all the facts. I want to know all the facts. The best place for the facts to be done is by somebody who's spending time investigating it. I would like this to end as quickly as possible so we know the facts, and if someone committed a crime, they will no longer work in my administration."

Has anyone ever thought that we don't have the brightest guy in the White House right now? I mean, is he an idiot, or just plain stupid?

Someone on the right must be complaining of liberal bias when Yahoo! uses that image with discussion of Bush's dangerous Supreme Court pick. Me? I love that photo. It should be on our flag!

Bush Is New At This Law Thing

The novelty of an MBA president wore off relatively quickly as the American people realized Bush was bad at business. It also means that he is not on top of this law-thing either. An easy example is the Karl Rove leak scandal, which has the Beltway all aflutter, is Bush's explanation of how he will handle Rove when it is confirmed that Rove was the key source that leaked the covert status of CIA agent Valerie Plame (in retaliation for her husband's vocal dissagreement with the administration's faulty rationale for war in Iraq.

"If somebody committed a crime, they will no longer work in my administration."

That was easy; if Rove commited a crime, he will be in jail.
