Bush On Iraq War Dead: "Get on with my life…"

When reading the quote, you think that someone misheard him, that the president of the United States did not state that he doesn’t care about the pain and suffering he has brought to over 1800 American families as a result of a misguided war he commences. The president certainly isn’t apathetic to war casualities? He didn’t really say that? He did.

“But whether it be here or in Washington or anywhere else, there’s somebody who has got something to say to the president, that’s part of the job,” Bush said on the ranch. “And I think it’s important for me to be thoughtful and sensitive to those who have got something to say. But, I think it’s also important for me to go on with my life, to keep a balanced life.”

This is a clear example of how the president has distanced himself from the realities of his war. Men and women are dying in uniform, but its far away, and to Bush, it is all one big cold war game.
