Bush: Ignorance Is Bliss

Does this statement Bush made regarding Hurricane Katrina’s wrath in New Orleans in an interview with Diane Sawyer on ABC’s Good Morning America program this morning sound familiar?

“I don’t think anybody anticipated the breach of the levees.”

No? Well contrast it with this statement Condoleeza Rice made during a May 16, 2002, press conference (slash grilling) at the White House…

I don’t think anybody could have predicted that these people would take an airplane and slam it into the World Trade Center, take another one and slam it into the Pentagon; that they would try to use an airplane as a missile, a hijacked airplane as a missile.

Once again the Bush administration refused to heed any warnings and opted to claim ignorance as its defense.
