Bush Sinking (Dead Bodies Floating)

As polls taken well after the devastation wrought by Katrina and the knowledge that the federal government acted dangerously slow in response to the flooding of the city of New Orleans came to bear show that the Bush administration is sinking (and fast), the Bushies will be looking for anything to change the subject. (The president is nearing the dreaded “under-40″ approval ratings that could quell any support for any second-term agenda item Bush may have had in mind.) The fourth anniversary of the horrific events of nine-eleven helped Bush out a little bit, but the anniversary also revealed the fact that it has been four years, and the nation may still be unprepared for the unknown future (and juxtapose that with the Bush/Rove rhetoric that we are safer now because of Bush). Bush may as well nominate his conservative appointee to the Supreme Court (rumors have it being Priscilla Owen) as the media’s attention will still be focused on the fallout from Hurricane Katrina. I predict Bush wiull very soon return to the norm of pretending the bad news didn’t really exist. (In fact, I am surprised that hasn’t happend already; oh yea, dead bodies floating.)
