Conservativism Defined

During today’s press conference, Bush threw aside any notion that Harriet Miers, Bush’s nominee to replace retiring Associate Justice Sandra Day O’Connor on the Supreme Court, may not stay conservative throughout her time on the bench.

That is the definition of a conservative: resist change. Even in the face of actuality over twenty years, resist change. No matter what happens in your personal life, nationally or globally, resist change. (Hell, Bush was a coked-up drunkard in the early eighties; then he found god, and has become the most religiously-devoted right-wing conservative president in our nation’s history.) It is unfathomably unnatural to not change over a time of twenty years; Bush realized that, and still, he doesn’t acknowledge it.
