Tapper noted the nearly unbelievable statements made by Nancy Grace on her CNN Headline News program last night (Why does she still have her own show?)…

Then on CNN Headline News, the inimitable Nancy Grace was holding court about the pending execution of Stanley (Tookie) Williams, who also maintains he’s innocent. Grace interviewed Lawanda Hawkins, a woman whose son had been killed by the Crips street gang.

“As a parent whose only child was murdered by that gang he co- founded, I beg the governor: Please do not grant clemency to Tookie Williams,” Hawkins said.

Added Grace: “Governor Schwarzenegger, if you can hear Lawanda Hawkins, maybe you will refuse to grant clemency to a four-time convicted killer. We`ll all be right back.“

You may remember thinking that my post on Mr. Williams’ fate was out of line (it wasn’t; I simply asked for blanket clemency for everyone on death row), but Nancy Grace promotes death and killing, and she does so on a daily basis. She gives no thought to the fact that a life will end and there will be no turning back. Grace lacks a sense of humanity.
