The Rey Shoppe

Seven years ago, a group of people got together and formulated a business plan for the “Rey Shoppe.” It was the goal of the loosely-affiliated organization to stage the grand opening of the store on December 8, 2005. It turns out, that didn’t give us enough time…

As I published in my senior year yearbook, “Yet it can not be seen, come to the grand opening of the store that will change the way you look at your past… the Rey Shoppe [December 8, 2005].”

Do I think of this as a tragic failure, the fact that the Rey Shoppe plan has not been executed? Of course not. We understood that the seven year timeframe was going to be tight; we all had college ahead of us. In fact, I look at this date as a success. We dreamed so big, our plan was so real, there was no possible way for us to meet our self-defined deadline. Today, with great honor, I congratulate and thank the original Rey Shoppe “partners.” Roger, Cook, Matt, Joe, Chris, and Mike: Thank you for your service.
