Alito’s Confirmation Lies In Back Room

As the stage shows continue (live at CBS News), with the evidence that the democrats are correct in stating that Alito is being evasive, especially with regard to his past comments on abortion, and republicans are correct in their stance that Alito has the right to be evasive and the president can choose whomever he wishes, albeit with the consent of the Senate (so here we are), what a show it has been. It is critical to remember, however, that the decision to either confirm or deny Bush’s most recent nominee to the Supreme Court will be made in the back room, not in front of the camera, and that is why I regard this as a stage show. Alito will resist the temptation, and he certainly has succeeded, to make definitive statements regarding his judicial philosophy, even though he wants to blurt out, “Yes, I will vote to overturn Roe v. Wade; it is horrible, despicable law,” as that would make news and most likely hinder his “locked” nomination.

He is such a toolbox. He can’t even come up with decent answers to questions where he could really toot his own horn such as “why do you want to sit on the supreme court?” “so i can ruin the next 50 years of your life.” he says crap like, “so i can serve my country.” zzzzzzzzzz. even the senate seems to be getting tired of questioning him. he is not only being evasive, he is being safe and really boring. a back room decision it will be. i’ve begun watchin cspan in bed at night instead of taking hypnotic sleep aids. thanks alito.
