Honey, About That Transsexual You Met On DailyKos

Every now and then (and more frequently as of late) I will cross-publish a post of mine on DailyKos, one that I feel is worthy enough (or funny enough) to publicize and be used as means to market my blog and my endless talent. The problem with DailyKos, a point-of-view that I have long blogged about, is that the population of bloggers/commenters sees themselves as higher-than-mighty, they are very in-your-face and self-congratulatory (I should talk?), and at the same time, are pretty much all fruitcakes.
But every now and then, the community that makes up DailyKos makes you wonder, then makes you upset and sad, then makes you laugh, and finally, smile, but nevertheless tired from the whole brief experience.
Today, I cross-published (or as I say, “cross-pollinated”) my most recent GOP-lambasting post, GOP Abandons Troops When (If) They Finally Come Home, which happened to end with the line: “But Ann Coulter doesn’t speak for me? Yes she does, asshole.” I thought it was funny, I thought it was true, I thought it was recent (it was reported today), and I thought it was worth cross-publishing at DailyKos.
As a result I did get one comment…
Great……comment.
Not to waste this comment myself, please do us a favor and police you diary for hateful rhetoric.
Or…maybe delete it, so you can write something about something really important.
Really, this is Daily Kos, not Hourly Coulter.

Wow, I thought, that was harsh. Time to poke fun at the DailyKos freaks…
did I mention…I am a netroots progressive pleading for donations for my upcoming campaign. Together, we can take back the Congress…
Good one, right? I thought so too. But then the commenter replied to my reply…
I am always glad to see people……standing up for what they believe in. I hope you don’t take offense at what I wrote, because I mean nothing personal. It’s just that I am a college professor, who happens to be 12 years past a sex-change operation and have had it ‘up to here’ with the constant Coulter diaries which enable people to “attack” Coulter by obliquely, and sometimes quite straight-forwardly, bashing transgender people.
My only point was that there are already more than enough diaries on this issue and your time could probably be spent to better use discussing actual issues.
Coulter is the hand the magician wants you to be watching, not the one you should be watching.
Robyn
hahaha. How often does she drop that information in conversation? I need closure…
10-4Well, understood. Issues? Who really wants to discuss issues? You mean, like banking reform?
One more reply from the he/she…
Identifying War……as the worst obscenity possible is a start. Using the world’s wealth to solve the world’s problems comes to mind. Honoring teachers rather than trying to destroy the education system would be a good start.
Those would keep us busy for awhile. :-)

It felt nice to receive an emoticon, a jovial one at that, from her (what am I saying? he). Now, what do I tell my fiancee about this?
I know what you are thinking, “Jeff, you’re being a dick.” (Man, poor choice of words.) But the DailyKos user advertises herself as an “11-years post-op transsexual lesbian” in her DailyKos profile, but then gets upset when people mention Ann Coulter because Ms. Coulter-the-horse-face is sometimes (rudely?) poked fun as a transsexual (because she is so hideously ugly), something, however, I explicitly did not do? Hmm… what’s your issue? (Or am I completely off-base here?)
