Announcement Season

It begins… Democrat Tom Vilsack of Iowa announces he is running for president, and right on schedule. John McCain, you are on the clock.
Which brings up an interesting point: when will Hillary announce? Hillary, John McCain, etc., will not announce anytime soon, in my opinion, because they can afford not to. The longer a candidate is out there, the longer the press and your political enemies can pounce on you. Vilsack and others need to announce as soon as possible because they need to introduce themselves to America (read: Iowa and New Hampshire). Hillary and McCain are already well known, so they are in wait-and-see mode for their announcements.
Everyone should expect Giuliani, Joe Biden, John Edwards and Mitt Romney to announce, but I’m predicting George Pataki and Jeb Bush (and why not?) are, at least, thinking about it. And let’s not count out George “Macaca” Allen — he doesn’t have a job anymore; what does he have to lose? (Oh, right, his dignity. But he lost that months ago.)
