Announcements, Next Assignment

Continuing on with announcement season, two people widely expected to make a run at the presidency have filed papers… John McCain and Rudy Giuliani. Interestingly enough, these two potential candidates don’t pass the Rove test, as they should both have trouble gaining support from Evangelicals, especially the former New York mayor. (McCain has at least had eight years to suck-up to the nuts from down south; the pro-choice Giuliani, however, seemingly would have no chance. Oh yea, nine-eleven; almost forgot about that.)
Question: Will the GOP allow the Evangelicals, formerly known as the “radical right,” push a super-conservative candidate into the nomination (Sen. Sam Brownback, for example), or will a vice-presidential nomination of a Jesus-freak be enough to appease the base? Papers due by Friday.
