- The Yankee Republican is nearly extinct. And this is bad news for liberals — the only good republicans are going out of business — meaning that bipartisanship will result in mending the differences between a raft and a yacht.

- The greatest misconception about the State of California is that the state is a bastion for liberals, but, in fact, “the state’s politics are centrist.” And with Pelosi’s historic rise to Speakership, the state is all the more powerful (finally).

- As baseball General Managers gather at their annual meeting, the Yankees seem to be building for the future — trading over-priced aging stars for young talent. Please, Mr. Steinbrenner, don’t change your ways, and make me not hate the Yankees. (We’ve come so far.)
