Tommy Thompson has announced his intentions to investigate a possible run for the GOP nomination, adding to the number of people already decided on deciding if they should run for president. (I guess the exact term is “exploratory committee.”)

While in Iowa, the former Wisconsin governor and Bush 43 cabinet member “was asked if he intended to run for president. ‘Why not? I’m from the Midwest. There should be a Midwestern candidate for president.’“

Candidate is the operative word.
