‘Cuse-Style

I know that I’ve been complaining about the cold weather around the bay area a lot lately (I even admitted that I may, in fact, be the “California wussyboy” my brother derides me for being), but it is now getting ridiculous.
In the early afternoon last Friday, my wife sent me this brief email…
it is COLD outside.
freezing, cuse-style.
For those who are not in “the know,” my wife is referring to Syracuse with the term, “cuse-style.” This term can be used correctly in two different ways: (1) to describe mind-numbingly frigid weather, as my wife used the term; and (2) to describe a high level of drunkenness.
For example, the following statements have the correct usage of “‘cused…” Man, I had way too much to drink last night; I got ‘cused. Or, Let’s go out tonight and get ‘cused. (Note: It is debatable whether “let’s ‘cuse it up” may be used or not. My advice is to not use it to be safe.)

I believe using the term “cuse-style” is fine for the female gender. A male who use “cuse-style” in a sentance would most likely be “cused” and found in a hospital bloodied and battered. It is similar to end of latin based words to depict male of female. The term “cused” can also be used for being screwed. Having a history of choking in the big game, etc. For example. ” I got “cused” on my taxes, I thought i was gonna get alot of money.” Or “Man, the Eagles got “cused” in that playoff game, I surely thought they were going to win”.

I’d heard that the temperature dropped as low as 27°F. in the orange groves in your state. Brrr!
