In the News

- The Bush administration has eclipsed another milestone: “The death toll for U.S. soldiers in Iraq has reached 3,000.

- “Romania and Bulgaria joined the European Union on Monday, helping to end geographic divisions left over from the cold war and extending the borders of the now 27-member bloc eastward to the Black Sea.” Here is my question: why can’t the U.S. join this European Union? What, were not good enough? Maybe if the frenchmen John Kerry won in 2004, things would be different. Much different.

- And although I never, ever click on an advertising link (almost out of principle), there is apparently a lot of money in web searching, and a lot of people are making a run at Google. Ill-fated? Has it simply gotten to the point that “google” is to search what “kleenex” is to facial tissue, and unless that changes, no one else has a real opportunity of besting the Google beast?

I’m sure that you also noted that the war in Iraq has lasted longer for us than our WWII involvement, yet another sad milestone.

It’s obvious that the US can’t join the EU because not enough of us like to eat snails, one of the EU’s main products.

And, in answer to your last question, “yes.”
