In the News

- I hope this becomes a trend: a NYC shopowner is suing four homeless people for loitering around his store.
- States’ rights apparently do not exist as Feds raid medical marijuana clinics in California… “California voters approved Proposition 215, which made marijuana available by prescription for medicinal uses. The [Federal] Drug Enforcement Agdministration, which does not recognize California laws legalizing medical marijuana use, has recently increased its enforcement.“
- The governor of California is on board with moving up the state’s primary (to February) so the largest state in the union actually has a voice in who runs for president. (So, a New Hampshire/Iowa-friendly Tom Vilsack and Carolina-friendly John Edwards aren’t necessarily the frontrunners?)
- And after reading this New York Times story on blog widgets, I realized that this blog doesn’t have any. And I plan on keeping it that way… for now.

Illinois’ governor has the same idea of moving the primary to February so Illinois will have more of a say in determining presidential candidates. If enough states do this, then we should simply have a national primary day and evaluate all the contenders at once.
Your last words to today’s posting (“…for now.”) sound ominous. The NYT story also mentioned that there are about 12 million Americans who blog. How does it feel to be part of such an elite group?
