In the News… Bloggers.

- Soccer, er, football superstar David Beckham is coming to America. To play soccer, not for a reality series, but one is probably not too far behind. Look for ESPN to do a series dedicated to the “rebirth” of soccer in the U.S.

- A liberal blogger gets sued for posting the following trash that spews out of right-wing radio (every day)…

[SF bay area right-wing talk show host Brian] Sussman tells a caller: “I would take it that you’re probably Muslim.”

“No,” the caller said, “I’m independent. I don’t subscribe.”

“Why don’t you right now say Allah is a whore and that would prove it to me,” Sussman said.

- A blogger gets a seat… “When the trial of Vice President Cheney’s former chief of staff on charges of perjury and obstruction of justice opens next week, two seats set aside for the media will be reserved for bloggers.

- And some bloggers are getting paid relatively well from selling ads, but not me.

I always fail to understand why most right-wing radio hosts can spout such offensive trash, all in the name of entertainment, and then get extremely defensive when someone takes them to task for their hateful and irrational opinions. It’s as if they feel they have a license to say what they want and to repress anyone who disagrees.

Anyway, you haven’t sold out to the “Man,” which is why you aren’t blogging for a profit. Don’t.

    I’m going “corporate.”

Oh, no! Going “corporate” is the next worst thing you could do, where you sell yourself to a soulless, uninimaginative, bureaucratic entity and you gradually lose your rights and freedoms until everything is taken away from you. Or am I describing life in the US under the Bush Administration? (I’m always confusing the two.) Anyway, you know what I mean.
