In the News… Refinancing, Frankly.

- “The Democratic-led House is considering cutting interest rates on some college student loans in half.” Does this mean I have to refinance, again?
- With Obama all-but-in the 2008 presidential race, all eyes turn to Hillary Clinton as she rips Bush on Iraq: “The Bush administration has frankly failed to put any leverage on this [the Iraqi] government.” The only part of her statement I don’t agree with is the use of “frankly.” Obviously, you are being “frank.” Making a point to acknowledge it just weakens your statement. (Ms. Clinton does this often, purposely weakening harsh criticism with generic, redundant qualifiers. It’s probably a defense mechanism.)
- And one of the most racist men in the House, Tom Tancredo of Colorado (although, he is a republican, so he’s simply trying to court the base), is running for president.

Other than his own vote, does Rep. Tancredo actually think anyone who has an iota of common sense will vote for him? I think his pesidential aspirations will quickly evaporate once someone tells him that most people could never support him or his extremely conservative positions.
