- Intelligence states that Iraq is an “increasingly perilous situation in which the United States has little control and there is a strong possibility of further deterioration.” As Cheney would note, these are signs that the enemy is in its last throes.

- I may need to rethink my Biden choice because he keeps saying stupid things. I commented on Tapper’s blog: “Biden is such a talker he will have a lot of difficulty avoiding the YouTube reels during his campaign, however short his campaign may last.” Biden for Secretary of Defense.

- Global warming is “‘very likely’ caused by man, and will be unstoppable for centuries. If you can’t beat them, join them.

- And “the United States is not planning for a war with Iran.Well, at least we have that settled. (There is nothing worse, however, than not building off the “successes” in Iraq.)

The NIE report which you mention in your first item should be applauded for its groundbreaking, in-depth analysis and willingness to “tell it like it is.” Like we didn’t know this about a year ago? It’s also comforting to hear that we’re not “planning” a war with Iran, but you know all too well how plans can be derailed.

As for Sen. Biden, he’s an intelligent, thoughtful man who needs to learn how to keep still, or else he will end his candidacy with his mouth. Ironically, his ideas about partitioning Iraq among ethnic divisions may be the very solution we need.
