Quote of the Day

Although I am not a Rudy Giuliani fan — his post-nine-eleven legacy is much different than the rest of his entire administration; like Bush, nine-eleven is the best thing to happen to Giuliani politically — the former mayor of New York City is one of the few republicans that could switch party lines without many people noticing.

Hardball host Chris Matthews on rancher presidents…

We love good mayors because we love our cities and Giuliani’s the city guy. I’m so sick of southern guys with ranches running this country. I want a guy to run for president who doesn’t have a fucking — I’m sorry — a ranch. Wouldn’t that be good, a guy who wasn’t on the ranch during Katrina, he was on the street corner answering questions [during 9/11].

God bless us, everyone.

Except the ranchers, you mean. (Maybe Chris has tapped a heretofore overlooked disgruntled group: voters who can’t stand Southern guys with ranches!)
