Jake Tapper also asked for a haiku on the day’s news, and I chimed in on Speaker Pelosi giving “Rep. William Jefferson, D-Louisiana, a plum assignment on the House Homeland Security Committee.

Speaker Pelosi.
What the hell are you doing?
Politics, my ass.

Although, the version that ABC News posted on the website was edited…

Speaker Pelosi.
What the hell are you doing?

Yep, they removed the entire last sentence. The bigwigs at ABC didn’t use editorial judgment to replace the s’s in “ass” with dollar signs (a$$), or replace the word “ass” with “arse,” they just deleted my intellectual property.

And now my 5-7-5 haiku is not even a haiku anymore.

You can now rightfully call yourself a victim of censorship by the mainstream media, although it was probably due to the webmaster making the language call instead of a bigwig. By the way, I’ve heard worse language on evening ABC programming, much worse than the word you used!

I wondered what you were trying to say when I saw your comments this morning, and just thought your mangled haiku to be an expression of frustration. Your 5-7-5 haiku was butchered to become a 5-7 “semi-ku,” I guess.
