In the News

- President Bush insisted that “Democratic leaders owe it to veterans and their families to pass the war-spending bill he wants.” And the president owes an explanation as to what his plan for success is in Iraq. The two go hand-in-hand, Mr. President.

- The Democrats have their sights on the kingmaker as the “White House acknowledges it cannot find four years’ worth of e-mails from chief political strategist Karl Rove.

- And “54 percent in the new Washington Post-ABC News poll approved of the job Congressional Democrats in Congress have done. That is 15 points higher than approval of Republicans in Congress and 19 points higher than President Bush’s approval rating, that remains mired in the mid-30s.” There is certainly room for improvement but, in today’s political climate, that is not too shabby.
