- “The majority of Republicans in the United States do not believe the theory of evolution is true and do not believe that humans evolved over millions of years from less advanced forms of life.” Enough said. (via kottke.org)

- About the surge, Mr. Bush. “Violence in Iraq, as measured by casualties among troops and civilians, has edged higher despite the U.S.-led security push in Baghdad.

- Whoever came up with counterfeit toothpaste is a genius. How did anyone ever find out? “Um, my toothpaste doesn’t give me that chloride feeling that I’m used to, I’m pretty sure it’s fake.”

- And “high medical payments do not necessarily buy high-quality patient care.That’s all we need, to get ripped-off from the front and the rear.

    Are the “less-advanced forms of life” the Republicans refer to in your first item other Republicans? This is the only way their theory would make any sense.

    And a word from our Dept. of Truth, Justice, and the American Way to keep this blog’s author honest and above-board: the anticavity chemical used in toothpaste is usually some form of flouride, not chloride.
