Jesus Married Mary; Let Priests Marry Too

Although the settlement between the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and the victims of sexual abuse by priests is a step in the right direction, the only clear answer to the problem that I foresee, aside from castration, is for the Catholic Church to allow ordained priests to marry. And God showed his wrath upon the people with a great flood. Whatever.

Allowing priests to marry would not solve the immediate problem — there is an obvious large number of sick priests — but over time, the Church would find that people who are dedicated to the life of Jesus of Nazareth, son of a carpenter, with the ability to marry, just like Jesus and Mary Magdalene, will offer much more than a celibate man. (Those who know love will spread love.)

Every person has desires, just like Jesus and Saint Mary Magdalene; not allowing priests to marry is unnatural. What would Jesus do? He’d marry Mary.
