In the News

- MoveOn.org apparently paid less for ad space in the New York Times than conservative groups. This has upset the conservatives to no end, and they “demand the same ad rate [that MoveOn.org] paid.Someone get a textbook, teach the conservatives the laws of supply and demand.

- Speaking of MoveOn.org’s now infamous ad — I guess that was the point — the consensus is that it did more harm for the end-the-war cause than it helped. Referring to General Petraeus as “General Betray Us” may not be the most tactful argument, however, if the general did not report the facts of the true status of the war in Iraq, and if the general allowed the White House political motives to influence his testimony, then did not the general betray us, the American people and the U.S. troops in Iraq? Yes, yes he did.

- The House Minority Leader is clearly in the minority (I hope) as he suggests the loss of American life in Iraq is a “small price…”

(By way of Swampland.)

- Speaking of Iraq, the deluded Ambassador Crocker: “Baghdad’s never looked so good.

- Three out of every five Americans “believe [President Bush's] policies are taking the country in the wrong direction.

- And a list of the 520 domain names Google owns (so far). My favorite: “gewgol.com.” Oh yea, and “ho.org.”

MoveOn’s ad would have been far more effective if they’d only waited until after the general’s report, and it would have deprived the conservatives of one area of criticism.

I was curious to see exactly what Rep. Boehner’s comments were, so I used your link and found them on a site called “The Horse’s Mouth.” Considering Boehner’s remarks, the site should be renamed in his honor as “The Horse’s Ass.”
