Thought I’d go two days without an in the news…
- Rudy Giuliani’s new campaign slogan: “I’m probably one of the four or five best known Americans in the world.” Better than the last one.
- Defense Secretary Robert Gates on the Iraq war: “If I’d known then what I know now, would I have done the same? I think the answer is, ‘I don’t know.’“
- And former Buffalo Bills’ quarterback, my former Congressmen (before I knew what Congress was), the 1996 GOP vice-presidential nominee (the GOP didn’t really try that hard in 96, did they?), Jack Kemp on the state of affairs within his party: “We sound like we don’t want black people to vote for us.” That was the point, right?

It would seem that Sec. Gates, who otherwise appears to be intelligent and thoughtful, is channeling Donald Rumsfeld of the famous quote “We have the known knowns, the unknown knowns, and…” Aw, who cares anymore?
