A Godfather’s Letter

Patricia and Kieran-
I am honored that you have considered me as your first-born child’s godparent, however I am saddened to tell you that I will not be available — or able — to do so. Aside from my availability, I do not agree with the teachings of the church, and I feel that I would not be able to participate in the process to the level that I feel is necessary. I am looking forward to being an uncle to a beautiful baby girl.

being a godfather isn’t about religion, it is about saying that you will be there for the child if something should happen to the parents, nothing to do with CHURCH!
