laughr trackr clappr

I’ve been speaking with venture capitalists on this project (I’m not kidding), but now that it seems that they will pass — although they will admit that they were interested — I think it is safe to take my latest idea to the world.
There are two accepted ways of inventing something. The first method is to start from scratch. This method is for suckers; it is more difficult, and has proven to bring nothing to society, except for all of the worldly items we have and count on today. The second more popular method is to combine two or more existing products into a new product. This is what I have done.
Here’s my pitch…
Remember the Clapper?
– clap on… clap off… the clapper –
And you know how you need a laugh track some times, around the house, at work…
But it would be hard to turn on and off a laugh track as one makes witty remarks throughout the day…
Introducing…
The laughr trackr clappr.
Make a joke, clap twice, and then comes a laugh track, so everyone knows it was killer. It works very well during awkward silences too.
This is almost the exact pitch I made to the VCs, for which I heard the following feedback: “I like it,” and “that’s good man.”
So where did the deal go wrong? Well, first I was set on manufacturing in the United States, you know, in order to help out the folks. That part of the negotiation wasn’t going anywhere. And secondly, I thought of my family. With the money and fame that would surely come with the release of my invention, I would most likely run amok along the coasts, looking for answers in all of the wrong places, returning home desperate for a cold glass of water, except there is no water, there is no home, things have changed, people have moved, the world is a different place now, and all I would have left is a laugh track to comfort me. (Clap on…)
